Damian Lillard Rips Into Patrick Beverley and Paul George After Portland Lose To LA Clippers

Damian Lillard will go down in NBA history as one of the better point guards of this generation. However, Lillard is yet to make a championship run. He got close last season, getting swept by the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals.
Dame got into a heated interaction with LA Clippers guard Patrick Beverley. This was because Beverley mocked Dame after he missed free-throws. The issues between Dame and PatBev go back to Lillard eliminating the Houston Rockets with a buzzer-beating three, similar to what he did to Beverley’s Clippers teammate, Paul George in the playoffs last year.
Lillard has been trying to will his team into the playoffs, falling 1.5 games out of the eighth seed with this loss and only three games to go. Clippers have their spot locked but can still move around seeding places.

Lillard on Pat Bev yelling “Dame time” after his two missed freethrows:
“To me, that just shows what they expect from me…He remembers it firsthand from when I was a second-year player and he was in Houston.”— Cassidy Hubbarth (@CassidyHubbarth) August 8, 2020
MORE: “For one, I know what happened. I expect myself to make those free throws, and I didn’t when my team needed it, which was a failure for me that I can accept. But asking me about Patrick Beverley, who—I sent him home before, at the end of a game.” 2/4

“Paul George just got sent home by me last year in the playoffs. So they know that the reason they're reacting like that is because of what they expect from me, which is a sign of respect; and it just shows what I've done at a high clip more times than not.” 3/4

“So I'm not offended by it. If anything, it should just tell you how much it hurt them to go through that I put them through in those situations previously.” –@Dame_Lillard postgame on Clippers trash talk at end of game

Clippers were led by Paul George who had 21, but the entire team played well. Reggie Jackson had 17, Landry Shamet had 19 and Marcus Morris had 15. Trail Blazer’s leading scorer was C.J. McCollum with 29 points. Damian Lillard and Carmelo Anthony both scored over 20, but they ultimately fell short.
