Danny Green Opens Up on Receiving Slander From Snoop Dogg After Game 5 Loss in NBA Finals

The 2020 NBA Finals ended with the Los Angeles Lakers being crowned champions in six games. However, the Lakers could have clinched the trophy in Game 5 if Danny Green and Markieff Morris didn’t make gruesome mistakes.
Green missed a wide-open three on top of the key, followed by a wild pass from Morris. Because of these mistakes, both players received a lot of backlash from Laker fans. Green in particular was slandered by numerous fans, including popular rapper Snoop Dogg.
“Get ya ass bac in the gym right now fuck going to sleep get ya shot right fool we one game away w. T. F is u doing,” Snoop posted on his Instagram account after the defeat. At that time DG didn’t respond to Snoop’s comment, as his focus must be on winning the title.

However, Green recently made an appearance on “The Fat Joe Show”, he talked about this matter.
“It’s one of those things where I said during that time, and I don’t take things personally. I know some people even comedians, they have their memes, they have their funny stuff, their pages. I know they have to stay relevant, they have to make people laugh.
“… He [Snoop Dogg] had posted a couple times and I am not taking it personally, but at the same time I know that, every time he posts people are going to draw attention to it.”
Being an athlete is a difficult task, not everyone can block out the noise. But it seems like Green knows how to do that, and it will certainly help him in being more confident in himself.

In the playoffs, Green averaged just 8.0 points while averaging below 35% from both the field and 3-point line. Ironically, he made his name in the league as a 3-pt specialist. But in the 2020 postseason run, he never found his shooting touch.
