There is a real possibility of LeBron James and his son Bronny playing together in the NBA. The latter is currently playing for Sierra Canyon High School, while LeBron James just won his fourth NBA championship. Can the father-son duo really team up in the NBA? Danny Green thinks so! 

Here is the reality: Bronny will graduate from High-School in 2023. LeBron is currently 35 years old, and one can do the math to determine his age in three years’ time. However, King James’ son should complete at least one year of college before he can declare for the NBA Draft. 

That means LeBron James will be 40 when his son enters his rookie year. Playing together as teammates is certainly an eye-catching idea, and even current NBA stars have the same thought in their minds. 

LeBron’s Laker teammate Danny Green reflected on the matter recently and mentioned, “I think he [LeBron] would love to.” As much as LeBron would love to, fans would be even more excited about watching the father-son duo play together.

Can the LeBron James train keep running for a few more years? 

The answer is a clear yes! LeBron will undoubtedly play for a few more years, but there needs a major detail that needs to be answered. James won his fourth career ring at 35 and expressed his desire to keep running for a few more years. 

But the question of durability kicks in. The explosive forward averaged 25.3 points in the 2019/20 regular season, which ranked him as one of the top MVP contenders. He’s been the NBA’s very best for 17-years, but how long can he carry this form?

A player like him would not want to stick around and average 5-10 points a game, even if it means playing till 40. “I don’t know if his body will hold up for another three years. I don’t think he wants to play in the NBA and not be able to play at the level that he’s playing at right now,” Green mentioned. 

Over the years, LeBron’s scoring average has never dipped below 20.0 PPG. It is a precious stat that he would want to uphold as well. But, at the end of the day, it drops down to a personal choice. LeBron James can undoubtedly play in the NBA for five more years, but not at the same level as now or before. 

Age catches up with everyone, and LeBron is no exception. But this doesn’t mean that he can’t play alongside Bronny in the NBA. If the King wishes to do it, there is no one who can stop him. In fact, he is strongly leaning towards it and would consider it as the greatest achievement in his career if it happens.
