Denver Nuggets fell to the LeBron James led Lakers in a tightly contested game. The Lakers won courtesy of a Kyle Kuzma three-pointer with 0.4 seconds left on the clock. Denver rested most of their starters in the fourth quarter, meaning the Lakers struggled to beat the Nuggets bench in the last few minutes of the game.

The Nuggets have seen two young stars break out in the bubble. The first one is Bol Bol, and the second is Michael Porter Jr. Porter Jr. was projected to be a top-5 pick in the 2018 Draft, but a back injury saw him fall to the last pick in the lottery (14). He didn’t play his first season due to injuries but has become a solid role-player for the Nuggets this season. He looks ready for more responsibility, as shown by his bubble play.

MPJ scored 15 points against the Lakers on 100% shooting accuracy. Yes, MPJ didn’t miss a shot as Denver shot 58% from the field and 56% from the three against the Lakers, in one of the worst defensive displays of the season. MPJ had LeBron as a matchup plenty of times and the young star shared a picture of the two playing on Instagram. LeBron chimed in with his own words of support in the comments.

MPJ was supposed to be one of the best prospects in the 2018 Draft class. However, injury hurt his draft stock. He fell to Denver who were strong enough last season to let him recover and rehab. Now that he is a valuable contributor on the team, the Nuggets have a real offensive threat next to Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.

MPJ hasn’t gotten extended minutes in any game all year. He is averaging under 10 points, playing about 16 minutes a game. However, he is a very efficient player. His shooting averages are 50+ from the field, 40+ from three, and 80+ from the free-throw line. This reliable output will make him even more of a threat come playoff time.
