The NBA is a league full of stars. Players who can single-handedly win games for you. Teams always ensure that they keep their stars well paid. Here’s a look at the best paid players for the upcoming season.

5. James Harden

James Harden has been in the Rockets from 2013. The 2017-18 MVP has been the talisman of the team and made them one of the top teams in the Western Conference.

Harden signed a mammoth six-year contract extension worth $228 million. For the 2020-21 season he is set to earn $40,824,000 making him the 5th best salaried player of 2020-21.

Harden has demanded a trade from the Rockets and wants to join forces with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

4. John Wall

John Wall is a very talented point guard but has been plagued by injuries. Wall hasn’t played for one and a half seasons now because of an ACL tear.

Wall is set to make his return next season. He will be pairing up with Bradley Beal, who in two years have become a bigger star than in the team. The Wizards will look to add more role players to this dynamic duo.

Wall had signed a contract extension worth $171 million for four years. Wall will earn $40,824,000 for the 2020-21 season.

3. Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook was brought in by the Houston Rockets to help James Harden win a championship. Twelve months later both the players have ended up wanting a trade.

Westbrook is one of the most talented players in the NBA. He has the ability to single-handedly change games. The Oklahoma City Thunder certainly realized the value of their star.

In 2017, Westbrook signed a five year extension worth $207 million. Whichever team Westbrook ends up in he will earn $41,006,000 for the 2020-21 season.

Chris Paul is one of the most talented point guards in the NBA. In the start of the 2019-20 season it seemed like Paul’s time at the top is over with a trade to OKC.

The Thunder proved to be a success story under the leadership of CP3. He averaged 17.6 points, 6.7 assists and 5 rebounds. Now he has joined a young Suns roster and will be pivotal in the growth of Devin Booker.

In 2018 CP3 signed a four-year contract worth $159 million. Paul will earn $41,358,814 for the upcoming season.

Steph Curry is one of the best shooter NBA has ever seen. Curry has been the cornerstone of a Warriors team which had made to NBA finals five times in a row.

He missed the majority of the 2019-20 season with a hand injury. He is going to make his return in the upcoming season and the team will hope that he can replicate his output.

In 2017 Curry had signed a five year deal worth $201 million. He will earn $43,006,362 for the upcoming 2020-21 NBA season.
