The exit of a big star in Kevin Durant from the Golden State Warriors raised several questions. While his critics took a dig at him, fans expressed sadness over his trade to Brooklyn Nets. Alongside the likes of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, Durant earned immense respect as one of the best players during Golden State’s dominance over the NBA.

Recently, former Warriors player Quinn Cook talked about Kevin on 95.7 The Game with great fondness. Despite Kevin’s feud with teammate Draymond Green and other issues, Cook claimed, “He enjoyed it.”

In an interview after KD signed with Nets, he opened up on the reasons for the shift. Durant claimed he felt out of place since Steph and Klay were drafted. It was as if he didn’t belong there. And yes, Draymond’s fight with him on and off the court added fuel to the fire.

“He built bonds and relationships with teammates and coaches and with front office and fans and just citizens of the bay area that will last forever. And one thing I appreciated about him, man, he gave everything. He gave it all, he gave us everything every single day. He’s all about the team, he’s all about winning.”

The Lakers’ point guard didn’t stop in Durant’s appreciation. “We all learned from K. He learned from everybody else.”

Moreover, Cook believes if it hadn’t been for the injuries, GSW would have won the third title as well.

Kevin Durant is a gem of a man and a player. His departure from the Warriors surely broke hearts. But it will be interesting to see him again firing shots for the Brooklyn Nets in the coming years.
