The end of the Washington Wizards-John Wall partnership was inevitable. After being absent for almost two years, keeping him on the roster was no use to them. Even though he is expected to make a comeback this offseason, nobody can guarantee he will bring back the same value that he had before the injuries.

John Wall was the no. 1 overall pick by the Wizards in the 2010 NBA Draft. Ever since, he has been the face of the franchise. After a decade playing for them, he has given them some good seasons. However, there have always been rumors that Wall doesn’t get along with the other superstar on the team, Bradley Beal.

Whether that’s true is up for debate. Now that he is starting afresh with the Houston Rockets, it will be exciting to see how he plays alongside James Harden, provided he does not get traded off as per his own request.

John Wall cherishes his time in Washington

On Instagram, Wall posted a message that said, “Where do I even begin? Ten years is a long time to think back on. I came to DC as a skinny 19-year-old with big dreams and goals. You embraced me and my family with open arms. You rocked with me from day 1 till now.

“From a young rookie to an All-Star, I did my best to make you proud. Through good times like that Game 6 versus Boston, through injuries, through rehab, I always felt the love for you. I appreciate you and will ALWAYS have love for DC.

“I may not wear the jersey anymore but I will never forget what it meant to represent y’all. This isn’t the way I thought I would say goodbye to this city, so I won’t… I will say THANK YOU!”

Wall’s bond with the city runs deeper than the game. He has done a lot for the community, which is also one of the reasons why they adore him. Next season will definitely feel very different to the Wizards and John. However, both are doing what’s best for them, and only time will tell whether it works out.
