For the first time since 2012, John Wall has a new partner in crime. Earlier this month, Wall went to the Houston Rockets in a trade, for which Russell Westbrook went to D.C. Wall had spent his entire career until now in Washington and played with Bradley Beal for eight of those years. Now he has another All-Star teammate; James Harden.

Wall spoke to the press about Houston Rockets and the team they have around him. He believes that with James Harden and the other players, the team has the potential to do something great.

“We know what those guys can bring to our team and how much better they can make our team. We know what James can do, one of the best scorers you’ve ever seen. When you add those pieces to what we have now, I feel like we can be a very special team.”

Wall is clearly excited to play with James Harden. But he will have to wait to link up with the Beard.

The night before training camp, Harden was seen partying with rapper Lil Baby without a face mask. He missed the first day of training camp and must pass six consecutive COVID-19 tests before he can join the team practice sessions.

Much of Harden’s activities are in order to force a trade out of Houston, according to analysts. After the departures of Mike D’Antoni and Daryl Morey, it appeared as though Harden wanted to end his time with the Rockets. Last season, Harden, along with new teammate Russell Westbrook, failed to get past the second round of the playoffs.

Harden’s time with the Houston Rockets has been marked with excellent regular season performances. But come playoff time, for some reason, Harden couldn’t take the Rockets to the NBA Finals. He came closest when he pushed the KD-led Golden State Warriors to a Game 7. But he lost then-teammate Chris Paul to injury. Post that, he had an unusually poor shooting night and got knocked out by the Warriors.
