The Los Angeles Clippers had a severely underwhelming 2019-20 season after being hyped as the best team in the league. Moreover, they gave up their entire future to trade for Paul George and pair him with Kawhi Leonard.

On paper, the team looked fantastic, but come playoff time, they never lived up to the expectations. However, the season is over, and right now, the NBA 2K21 next-gen is creating a lot of buzz around the town.

They recently revealed the players’ ratings for next-gen game and Clippers star Paul George joined with Ronnie2K to discuss his rating. George is rated as 88 in the next-gen game, taking a dip of 5 points from his 93 rating in 2K20.

You know what, I wouldn’t be surprised if I am sub 90, Imma go 88… You know what, this is gonna be an amazing, amazing training going into this next season. Imma predict I’m gonna go around 95… So 2K22, I’ll be like a 96. But that’s down the line. I am more satisfied with the badges.”

Prior to his disastrous 2020 playoff run, George was touted as one of the best players in the league. In fact, in his last year with the OKC he was an MVP candidate and was performing sensational. But with the Clippers, he is yet to find his touch. Maybe next year the George-Leonard duo will achieve the heights they were expected to perform at.

While PG13 claims that he will have a terrific bounce-back season next year, can he really achieve that? Even in the regular season, he averaged 21.5 points per game, which is a solid number, but not superstar numbers.

If the Clippers want to contend for the NBA title next season, they need his contributions. Also, with GSW back, it will only make their job harder in the stacked Western Conference. Hopefully, PG will shrug off the ‘Pandemic P’ nickname and get back to his ‘Playoff P’ days.
