In the two years that Luka Doncic has played in the league, he has shown signs of stardom. Even at the young age of 21, Luka is expected to carry the Dallas Mavericks on his back.

Surprisingly enough, the first time All-Star almost sent the Clippers home in the opening round of the 2020 postseason. If it weren’t for an injury to his co-star, the Mavs might have advanced to the WCSF.

However, the season is over and Luka just had the first taste of NBA Playoffs. This short but epic experience will help him in taking the Mavericks to new heights. Moreover, Doncic individually is racking up accolades one after another, and many believe he could become an MVP as soon as next season.

Lakers forward Jared Dudley joined “The Ringer” podcast, where he discussed Luka’s talent and what does 4-time champions LeBron James thinks about Doncic.

Luka is there. Listen, I am impressed by Luka’s IQ, ‘Bron speaks highly of his IQ, the passing ability that he has. Once his three-point percentage gets up too, he’s just a low for how good of a shooter he is. His not being athletic but still his Euro-Step getting guys fouled… He has to pick up defensively can be a liability.”

As Dudley pointed out, Luka does all sorts of stuff on the basketball floor. What’s scary is the fact that he is still developing right now. In the next five years or so, Luka has a chance to become the next transcendent superstar in the league.

Can Luka Doncic become the Most Valuable Player next season?

After bagging in the 2020 NBA MVP, Giannis won back-to-back NBA MVPs. However, the Greek Freak might be defeated for the MVP by Luka Doncic. For starters, voter fatigue will play a role against Giannis. Second, two MVP caliber players in Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant are returning next year.

This will further hamper Antetokounmpo’s chance to win a third straight MVP. On the other hand, Luka Doncic is in the perfect position to win the first-ever of his young NBA career. This season Luka averaged a staggering 28.8 points per game while grabbing almost 10 boards per game.

If Doncic keeps up these terrific numbers followed by a top 3 berth in the conference, there are no doubts he could win his first-ever MVP.
