After the release of Michael Jordan‘s ‘The Last Dance’, several fans wished for a similar one for Kobe Bryant as well. But it seems like his enemy-turned-friend Shaquille O’Neal doesn’t want to go ahead without Kobe present by his side.

The Lakers franchise was blessed with the duo of Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal in the 00s. They won a three-peat together, despite off-court differences.

When we talk about the possibility of Kobe’s ‘Last Dance’, it would be incomplete without Shaq. He will definitely play a major role in it. After Kobe’s demise in January, Shaq has been quite vocal about his love and respect for his former teammate. He is shaken by the recent loss and has touched him in many ways.

“My guy (Kobe) is not here, I don’t want no old mess brought up so if they ask me to do it, I’m not gonna do it. Because of course, that’s part of our relationship, that’s part of what we did, but I don’t want to bring that attention to him.” Shaq stated in a chat with Complex.

“I saw my rings the other day, I’ll put ’em on the safe or I’ll put ’em on the bank. I don’t wanna wear them ’cause he’s not here to celebrate with me. So, they’re gonna talk about this and that, ‘Oh, he got traded’, ‘They wouldn’t get along’, I don’t wanna hear that,” he added. “I want to celebrate him in a great light, I want to celebrate myself in great light. And, since the emergence of the internet, everybody knows the story.”
