The Golden State Warriors had a pretty awful 2019-20 NBA season. They failed to make any noise after making it to the NBA Finals in the last five years, while winning three of them. However, the 15-50 record had a silver lining for the Dubs, as they were awarded the #2 overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft.
Ever since the Warriors landed the pick, there have been many speculations regarding the same. On one hand, the Dubs can trade it away for acquiring an All-Star talent. But if they keep the pick, they can draft a good center, which is the only flaw on their roster.

“I think it’s all gonna be predicated on what they do with this (No. 2 overall) draft pick. If they can turn this draft pick and [Andrew] Wiggins into acquiring another All-Star or All-Star caliber player, then yes they can get back into contention. And a name that comes to mind — (Nikola) Vucevic. I think he could go in there and fit right in among their guards. He gives them a down-low presence and can knock down shots.
“If they can do that, then yes. But if not, they’ll be right there in the middle of the pack in the Western Conference.”
As of now, there is has been no official word from the Warriors about the decision. However, the major goal for them right now is getting back to business. To accomplish that, the original core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green will reunite next season.
