In 1985, the Kings relocated from Kansas City to Sacramento. Since then, the city hasn’t had an NBA team, but they could now have a temporary team to root for. Travel from the U.S. into Canada is banned currently. So the Toronto Raptors are looking for an alternative location and Kansas City is one of the leading candidates.

Initially, Louisville was leading the charge to be the alternative location. But when Bleacher Report tweeted about it, Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes replied, “Bring them to KC!”

Mahomes’ teammate also chimed in and asked the reigning Super Bowl MVP to bring the NBA back to the city.

A few days ago, Kansas City mayor, Quinton Lucas, had also expressed interest in bringing the Raptors to the city.

So when Mahomes tweeted, Lucas said he was “Working on it.” Mahomes could play a big role in this temporary relocation. Mahomes is already a part-owner of the Kansas City Royals, and he can help them to complete this move.
