Luck may have played a huge role in the Philadelphia 76ers’ win against San Antonia Spurs. This is the second game in a row in which the 76ers were climbing towards an obvious win. However, the last quarter has not worked much in their favor. Even in their first match against the Pacers on Saturday, August 1, the 76ers managed to give them 46 points in the final moments of the game. T.J. Warren scored his career-high of 53 points and the Pacers won 127-121.

If it weren’t for Shake Milton, the 76ers would have lost to the Spurs as well. On Monday, August 3, the Spurs dropped 43 on them which the 76ers outlasted with Milton’s three-pointer with 6.1 seconds remaining on the clock. They escaped with a victory of 132-120.

“I think it stinks,” Sixers coach Brett Brown said after the team’s two consecutively disappointing fourth quarters. “I think it’s not anything that we believe in or talk about. We were very lucky to win tonight. In two closeout periods, against Indiana it was 46, tonight it was 43 … that’s not going to get anything of any importance done.”
