After struggling for years at the bottom of the barrel, the Philadelphia 76ers are finally back in a contending position. Heading to the 2020 postseason, they were among the top names to come out of the East. But to everyone’s surprise, they were eliminated in the first round!
Although Ben Simmons was out of the roster due to injury, Philly couldn’t win even a single game against the Celtics. This called for some changes in the roster, starting with the management letting go of head coach Brett Brown.
Since then, the team has been looking for a new head coach to fill his shoes. Former Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni is one of the top candidates to land the job in Philly. According to Yahoo Sports’s Keith Smith, the team is open to making some huge changes for D’Antoni if he decides to join the team.

As Keith said, the Sixers roster is built around big men. But to succeed in today’s NBA, they might need to alter the roster better. D’Antoni is also known to run a fast-paced offense with his teams. And the current 76ers roster will be inefficient with that technique.
There will be no surprises if the Sixers front office parts ways with both Tobias Harris and Al Horford. The stars didn’t live up to the team’s expectations and were awful in the Playoffs.

The team could trade Embiid as he has displayed constant injury issues during his time at Philly. It will give Ben Simmons to drive in the lane more and increase his scoring efficiency.
