Philadelphia Writer Has Cheerful News For Kobe Bryant Fans

Kobe Bryant fans have something to look forward to the next year. Sports columnist Mike Sielski announced that he will release a book on the Los Angeles Lakers which is scheduled to come out in the Fall of 2021. The book will be titled: “Remember His Name: The Rise of Kobe Bryant.”

“So… I have news. I’ve reached an agreement on my next book: “Remember His Name: The Rise of Kobe Bryant.” It’s scheduled for Fall ’21 & will tell Kobe’s origin story: his family history/early life, his career at Lower Merion High School, and his development as a person/basketball star,” Sielski tweeted on Wednesday.

Throughout his life, Bryant has always been an inspiring personality. The story of Kobe Bryant is a story of a prodigy, of success, of never giving up, of motivation, and, at the end, of sorrow.

When he came into the NBA through the 1996 draft, he became the first guard (and still the only one) to be picked in the draft straight from high school. By then, people were already talking of him as being extremely competitive, just like the one whom he admired- Michael Jordan. The prodigy that Bryant was, he became the youngest player to make an All-Star appearance at the age of 19. That alone wasn’t enough for him. He had eyes set on the MVP award for the game. He had 18 points by the end of three quarters. Yet, for some reason, coach George Karl never brought Kobe on in the fourth quarter as the MVP award went to Jordan.

But he had bigger things to achieve. Two years later, his team would go on a dream run. Bryant achieved immense success, winning three consecutive titles with his team in 2000, 2001, and 2002. Two years later, he had the team would fall with a star man and legendary coach leaving the team. But Bryant and co. would rise again winning two more championships with the team in 2009 and 2010.

Late in his career, Bryant would have to deal with an Achilles injury. Many would have called it quits to have a major injury so late in the career. But he returned and played for a few more years. In 2016, he retired as one of the best in the game.

Four years later, Bryant died in a tragic helicopter crash along with his 13-year old daughter and seven others.
