The San Antonio Spurs face one final task in the quest to continue their 22-year long playoff streak. They face off against Utah Jazz in their final game in the regular season. The Spurs are just half a game behind the Portland Trail Blazers, who are currently eighth in the standings. The Spurs are one of the four teams vying for that spot and will hope to secure it for themselves. But first, they have to beat Utah.

These teams faced off earlier in the bubble and the Spurs won a close game by eight points (111-119). Utah has disappointed in the bubble, going 2-5 in their bubble games up until now. The team has obvious chemistry issues and is missing the scoring ability of Bojan Bogdanovic. Despite this, the Jazz has locked the sixth seed for themselves ahead of a playoff matchup against the Denver Nuggets.

Utah will be without Mike Conley (knee) and possibly Rudy Gobert (back). The Spurs are locked and loaded with an almost fully healthy squad, with the exceptions of Tyler Zeller (knee) and Bryn Forbes (quad).

San Antonio Spurs vs Utah Jazz: Who wins?

The Spurs need to win, but a win doesn’t guarantee them a playoff berth. For that to happen, they need at least two of the teams ahead of them to drop their games. The Spurs have played two games lesser than Memphis and Phoenix, so despite all three teams being just half a game behind, the Spurs sit behind both Memphis and Phoenix due to win percentage. If any two lose while the Spurs win, they take the ninth spot. If Memphis, Phoenix, and Portland lose their games while the Spurs win, the Spurs will take the eight seed and face Portland in the play-in game.

Jazz are locked in their playoff position and have nothing to play for in this game. However, their squad has been out of sync in the bubble, so this game may be their final chance to build chemistry. Despite that being said, we think the Spurs will win. The team has looked very competent under Coach Gregg Popovich in the bubble, and they should be expected to end their bubble with a 6-2 record, even if they miss the playoffs.
