The Denver Nuggets tied their second-round series with the LA Clippers on the back of a dominant performance. Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic asserted his authority in the game and helped his team draw level at 1-1. In his post-match presser, Jokic received a question about his playing style, and gave one of the most honest responses ever! 

2x All-Star Nikola Jokic is undoubtedly one of the best centers in the league. He has a flair for making incredible passes, and his shooting game is always on fleek. However, why doesn’t Jokic initiate fast breaks for Denver when he gets possession of the ball? This was lingering in the mind of a media person, who shot this question to Jokic after Denver’s Game 2 victory. 

So why doesn’t Jokic run really fast when he gets the ball? The answer is really simple. Here it is in Jokic’s own words: “I’m patient because I cannot really run fast. That’s my only option,” he said. 

Well, it is as simple as that. Nikola identifies his strengths and weaknesses, and he wants to use them to his advantage. Hence, he won’t pick up his swift running shoes in the NBA. However, he makes up for it with his impeccable playing style.

Nikola Jokic scored 26.0 points and got 18.0 boards in Game 2 against the Clippers, to complete the Nuggets’ comeback in the series. Denver won the game 110-101 to send a message to Doc Rivers’ team that they won’t go down without a fight.
