The Milwaukee Bucks had a great 2019/20 regular-season but failed to replicate the same in the Playoffs. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Co. were sent home in convincing fashion by the Miami Heat as the Bucks just weren’t up to the mark.

This has got Stephen A. Smith worried that the Bucks might lose Giannis to another team in the NBA. Before the pandemic wreaked havoc, Giannis Antetokounmpo played some of the best basketball in his life.

He led the Bucks to post the best offensive rating in the league. Moreover, they finished atop the Eastern Conference for the second year on the trot.

However, their postseason run was cut short in the second round by the Heat. They visibly outplayed Milwaukee in 5 games.

“When I think about the Milwaukee Bucks, I think about Khris Middleton who’s really a number three guy, not a number two guy.

“Even though one game without Giannis he showed up and played big-time for the most part, he’s not that dude,” Smith said. “He’s a really good player but he’s not that dude.”

Eric Bledsoe was the one who took the wounding next, as Smith questioned his postseason jitters. In a series where Milwaukee desperately needed the roster to step-up, Bledsoe averaged almost 35.0 minutes a game. But his numbers stood bleak at 11.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game against Miami.

“Eric Bledsoe, don’t get me started with him and how he performs in the Postseason,” Stephen A. expressed. “No matter what he does in the regular season, something is glaringly missing come postseason time.”

Why does Stephen A. Smith think Milwaukee Bucks are on the verge of losing Giannis Antetokounmpo?

One thing that’s certain is that Stephen A. Smith is utterly disappointed with the Bucks. Not just Giannis, but the team as a whole. The 53-year-old is very upset with the fact that the team failed to respond when their leader was out with an injury.

“The Brook Lopez’s of the world and George Hills of the world and others; these are guys that are good players” he mentioned. But Stephen A. thinks the moment things go bad for the Bucks, these players struggle to deliver under pressure.

“So they need to upgrade significantly,” he continued. “I find that to be a very difficult proposition for them to pull off, and as a result, I think they’re in trouble of losing the ‘Greek Freak’ but in the end, do I put it on him? No.”

Stephen A. puts the blame on the organization for their disappointing exit from the Playoffs. Giannis’ contract extension is pending, and there are already massive speculations about moving on to greener pastures and joining Miami, Golden State, and what not!
