Houston Rockets’ star Russell Westbrook slammed Stephen A. Smith for lying about his equation with James Harden. Smith yesterday spoke on the First Take about the two stars, claiming that both of them did not want to play with each other. This was later posted on Instagram.

Brodie later replied and said that the reports are fake. Westbrook commented, “It’s my birthday, but I should say. This is completely fabricated. Y’all have a good night.”

After struggling to fit in the team, the dismal playoff performance of the Rockets was the nail in the coffin for Westbrook’s stay at Houston. Westbrook has already demanded a trade, and the management now are trying to find potential suitors.

What Next for Russell Westbrook?

There are no doubts about the talent of Russell Westbrook. He is a top 10 NBA player right now. But there are only a few teams who have the assets to trade for a juggernaut like Westbrook.

The Charlotte Hornets have emerged as favorites for Brodie. The Hornets have many movable veteran contracts and can have the cap space to acquire Westbrook.

Reports suggest that the Clippers are also targeting Westbrook. The LA team can be a great destination for Westbrook as he will play as a point guard, which is his preferred position. With the presence of Kawhi Leonard and a great support cast, Brodie will also have a significant chance of winning the championship.

Apart from these two teams, there are the New York Knicks. The Knicks haven’t had a star player since the departure of Porzingis. Landing a star like Westbrook can be a great deal for the team. Brodie can also emerge as a mentor for the many young players, too.

The other team in the discussion to land Westbrook are the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons have an ailing star in Blake Griffin. This trade would mean that the Pistons would land a solid point guard in Westbrook, while the Rockets would get a solid defender in Griffin.
