Steph Curry is in conversation with some of the greatest point guards in the history of the game. While he doesn’t do exactly everything a traditional PG would do, Curry does what he needs to and then some with his otherworldly shooting ability. However, he is staring down the barrel of a consecutive lost season after Klay Thompson went out with injury for another season.

Curry and Thompson form the deadliest shooting backcourt in basketball history. While Klay was out the entirety of last season, Steph played very few games. However, you could see that it was a transitional year for GSW and Steph wasn’t playing as hard as he should have. He got hurt before the Warriors even had a chance.

This is Steph’s season. As the Western Conference becomes even more competitive and he becomes a 33-year-old, the window for Curry to succeed is narrowing. Even though Klay Thompson isn’t there this year, Steph needs to go out and show that he can do it on his own. For the superficial individual embellishments of being ‘one of the G.O.A.T.s’, Steph has to prove that he can do it on his own.

This season is perfect for Steph to show what he can do without Thompson and make his personal legacy that much more pristine.
