For New Orleans Pelicans’ Lonzo Ball, his teammate JJ Reddick is among the greatest shooters he has seen.

Talking on JJ Redick’s podcast with The Ringer, Ball said he was the toughest to guard.

“I am not gonna lie bro, you r the toughest and greatest shooter I have ever seen in person. I early thought it would be easy to guard you. Chasing you off the screen was the toughest to guard you.” Lonzo Ball told JJ Reddick, talking on his podcast.

Both Ball and Reddick joined the Pelicans last summer. Ball, the second overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft, came after two seasons with Los Angeles Lakers. Reddick, meanwhile, started his career in 2006 with Orlando Magic. He then played for Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Clippers, and Philadelphia 76ers before joining the Pelicans. The 35-year old played four years for Duke before coming into the NBA. He is the Duke’s all-time leading scorer. In his-year NBA career, he has shot over% from both field goals and beyond the arc.

Lonzo Ball lauds Zion Williamson

Apart from Reddick, a major talking point for Lonzo on Monday’s podcast was the rookie sensation Zion Williamson.

“It’s really just natural,” Ball said of Williamson. “Z is a different type of talent. I’ve never really played with a guy like him before. He complements my game tremendously and I’m just happy to be with him.”

While Williamson’s injury meant that they hardly played together, Ball said that they have developed a good understanding in spite of it.

It looks good but I really just aim for the corner of the backboard, really. I mean, as you know, Zion’s probably going to catch it no matter where you throw it. So, for me, I really just try to get it over the defender because I know (Zion’s) going to get higher than him. As long as I do that, it’s going to work out,” he said.
