Current Boston Celtics player, Jaylen Brown, mentioned how inspiring Kevin Garnett is as a former star of the franchise. The two never played together, but Garnett still holds some connection with the younger bunch.
In an interview with ESPN’s Ros Gold-Onwude, Jaylen revealed that Garnett has been a huge motivating figure since his rookie days. He narrated a small incident from that time when young Jaylen was sitting on the bench with his head down.
“I was at the end of the bench with my head down,” Brown narrated. “And he sent a voice message through my strength coach over the phone like, ‘You better pick your motherf**k*** head up.’ He was cursing me out. He was like, ‘You’ve got to carry yourself a certain way.’ So he told me to pick my head up and fix my body language, right f**k*** now.”
