LeBron James and co were unable to finish off the Miami Heat in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. It was a terrific game that could have gone either way until the very last possession.

James and Butler had one of the most epic duels in the NBA Finals. King James finished the game with 40 points while Butler registered a 35 point triple-double. The two superstars exchanged punches in the entire game, but miraculously, the Heat prevented their season from ending.

Although the Heat put up an amazing hustle, Lakers guard Danny Green could have won LA a championship with a wide-open three. He was standing alone on top of the key and LBJ delivered him a perfect pass, but Green couldn’t drain it.

James shared his views on the blunder committed by Danny with this important possession.

“I’ve always played the game the same way since I was a kid, and I’ve had success doing it. I won’t let a play here or a play there change my outlook on the game or how I play the game. If you just look at the play, I was able to draw 2 defenders below the FT line & find 1 of our shooters… for a wide open 3 to win a championship. I trusted him, I know he wishes he could have it again, I wish I could make a better pass. You live with it.”

As James said that it was the perfect play, and blaming Green wouldn’t change the outcome. The Lakers need to regroup and finish the job in the next game. Putting brakes on Jimmy Butler‘s incredible run would be the top priority for the Lakers in Game 6.

Regardless of what happens, the Lakers should use this opportunity to look back on the Game 5 mistakes. They should possibly find a way to get more contributions from bench players in Kuzma and Morris.

If they make these adjustments, the Lakers should have no problem getting the W in Game 6. But what do you think? Will the Lakers lift the NBA trophy in Game 6? Or will the Heat push it to seven games?
