The Boston Celtics lost to the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals, due to which Jayson Tatum has been receiving a lot of criticism. He didn’t have the best of performances throughout the series, and people expected him to step up at the biggest stage. Colin Cowherd also talked about Tatum and gave his honest views.

He believes that Jayson Tatum can never become a superstar in the NBA. This came after Tatum had been inducted to the ‘Club Superstar’ by another Fox Sports analyst, Nick Wright. Cowherd compared Tatum to the likes of Tom Brady and Peyton Manning in his reasoning for why he can never become a superstar player.

Colin Cowherd said, “To be a superstar, you not only have to change the temperature of your team, you have to change the temperature of the league you are in. People started drafting players to stop Shaq, people started drafting, hiring coaches to stop Michael Jordan or Larry Bird. Like Nick Saban is a superstar in college football. He’s had 40 head coaches fired in the conference.”

He added, “Tom Brady literally changed the way the Jets, the Dolphins and the Bills drafted players. Peyton Manning did that in his division. That’s a superstar. Kevin Durant is a superstar, Westbrook is a star… you are not changing the temperature of any room.”

It will be fair to say that no athlete in any sport can come close to what Tom Brady did for the New England Patriots. Winning six championships for a single team will not be a simple task in the future. It’s mainly because of the competitive culture around every league.
