The Toronto Raptors’ power forward Ogugua “OG” Anunoby Jr. is having a hell of a time. He seems to be having fun with his game and is approaching it lightheartedly. This may as well be the case as the Raptors are doing pretty well, despite losing Kawhi Leonard last Summer. The Raptors are second in the Eastern Conference of the NBA, just after the Milwaukee Bucks.

OG Anunoby: Playful Analogies

OG Anunoby had a humorous take on Toronto’s winning streak ahead of their game against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night. In an interview with TSN, he was asked, “Have you ever won this many games in a row, in your entire life, in anything?”
To this Anunoby replied with a hilarious, ” Connect 4, that’s it”

The Raptors really have been treating opposing teams like easy plays as of late. Toronto has won each of their last 15 games entering Wednesday’s matchup with the Nets. Seven of those victories coming by double digits.

Despite losing Kawhi Leonard this past summer, the Raptors have made gains.

OG Anunoby has also been a crucial member of Toronto’s success. In fact, he is arguably benefiting most from Leonard’s departure.

The 22-year-old started in 52 of the team’s first 53 games, averaging 10.4 points and 5.4 rebounds while shooting close to 38 per cent from beyond the arc. Anunoby gives the Raptors added length on the defensive end. He looks like he could be the next rising star in Toronto — much like what Pascal Siakam experienced during his rapid ascension.

Pascal Siakam has developed into a star, and he was even voted to be a starter in the 2020 NBA All-Star Game. Meanwhile, Kyle Lowry also made the All-Star team, while Fred VanVleet is excelling on both ends of the floor at the other backcourt spot.

The Raptors are really going for it this season. They might as well be named as the Milwaukee Bucks’ toughest rivals in the Eastern Conference.
