  • San Antonio Spurs trio of Duncan, Parker and Ginobli passed the record for most games won together. They passed pervious holders of Larry Bird, Kevin McHale and Robert Parish with their 541st win against Boston on 1st November 2015.
  • The Golden State Warriors had the best start to an NBA season, going 24-0 before losing to the Milwaukee Bucks. When included with the last few games of the 2014-15 season, they had a 28 game winning streak in the regular season, the second longest in NBA history.
  • On 27th February 2016, the Golden State Warriors clinched their playoff berth when San Antonio Spurs defeated Houston that night. They beat the 1985-86 Boston team by a calendar day to clinch a playoff spot the fastest.
  • On 25th March, the Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks scored a league record of 39 3-point field goals between them. The Warriors had 21 and Mavericks had 18. The Warriors would win the game 128-120.
  • On 1st April 2016, Boston defeated the Warriors at the Oracle Arena ending the Warriors undefeated home streak. It ended their undefeated regular season run at Oracle, to 54 games, back to the 2014-15 season. This is the longest undefeated home steak in NBA history.

  • The Golden State Warriors became the first team in NBA history to score 1,000 3-point field goals over the course of a regular season.
  • The Memphis Grizzlies are the first team to play 28 different players in the same season. Many players have signed 10-day contracts with the team. This was accomplished on 3rd April 2016 in a losing effort against Orlando Magic.
  • San Antonio set the NBA record for most consecutive home wins in a season with 39 straight wins at the AT&T Centre. This run came to an end with their defeat to the Golden State Warriors on 10th April 2016. They would finish 40-1 at the AT&T Centre, tying the 1985-86 Boston Celtics for the best home record in the NBA.

  • The Golden State Warriors, by beating San Antonio, recorded their 34th road win of the season, beating the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls record for the most away wins in a season.
  • In their final match of the season, the Warriors beat the Memphis Grizzlies 125-104, sealing their 73rd win of the season. Their record of 73-9 beats the NBA record for the best regular season- the 1995-96 Bulls 72-10.
