Memphis Grizzlies star Andre Iguodala is reported to have been pursued hard by Houston Rockets.

The Grizzlies have been long known to make the most out of the veteran star through a trade rather than a losing out on him for free at the end of his contract.

As per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski now, Rockets general manager Daryl Morey has made significant efforts to bring in Iguodala.

“Daryl Morey has tried any number of two-way, three-way, four-way scenarios to get Andre Iguodala from Memphis,” he said on the Lowe Podcast. “That doesn’t seem to be a scenario that is going to come into play. I think he’s kind of thrown his hands up on that one.”

It is not the first time that the Rockets have approached Iguodala. Houston were known to have tried for him before in the summer of 2017, but he joined Golden State Warriors instead, on a three-year $48 million contract.

Iguodala’s contract with the Grizzlies now will run until July next year, when he will become an unrestricted free agent. Wojnarowski also said that the Grizzlies are strongly looking to trade him and not lose him in free agency.

3 Possible Destinations for the Memphis Star Andre Iguodala.

“Memphis has been absolutely resolute in their belief they’re going to find a trade for Andre Iguodala,” Wojnarowski added. “So if you want him — the Lakers, the Clippers — you have to trade for him.
