D’Angelo Russell- a trade asset
Russell came in to the Warriors side from Brooklyn Nets as a part of a sign and trade package for Kevin Durant. With two top-class shooters already in the Warriors line-up in the form of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, Russell was always considered to be a trade asset for the Warriors. However, things took a turn when the Warriors were hit with major injury concerns.
Thompson suffered an Achilles injury in the pre-season and is yet to recover from it. Meanwhile, Stephen Curry played a few games but was injured early in the season.

They are at the bottom of the Western Conference winning just nine of their games. Their 0.214 record is currently their worst in the league. And they still do not know the return date of their superstars.
Hence, it remains to be seen whether the Warriors give away Russell before the February 6 deadline. Another possibility is that Russell might go out after the season, by when the Curry and Thompson might come back to full fitness.
