Over a year after getting sacked as the coach of Cleveland Cavaliers, Tyronn Lue still seems to be missing his old job.
Lue worked as a coach with the Cavaliers between 2016 and 2018. With LeBron James at his services, Lue built an excellent coaching resume over the three seasons. Under Lue, Cleveland reached the finals of the NBA in each of the seasons and was won the Championship in 2018.
After the 2017/18 season, LeBron James hit free agency and signed with Los Angeles Lakers. With LeBron went the fortunes of Cleveland as they began the 2018/19 season with six straight defeats. This led to the sacking of Tyrron Lue.

Talking to The Athletic now, Lue felt he deserved some more time at the franchise for what he has achieved with them.
“Yeah, I do,” Lue said when he was asked if he still wished to coach the Cavaliers. “What I tried to build there, I think the culture I tried to set … I thought we could do it together. Koby (Altman) being a young GM, me being a young coach, having young players.
“I won a championship there, so you have a chance and an opportunity to do something different, and you should have that leeway to be able to go through a couple challenging years. To win a championship and go to the (NBA) Finals should buy you a little time, you would think.”

Tyronn Lue might have suffered a harsh sacking
The 2018 NBA Championship is the only Championship in the franchise history. After LeBron left them, it was expected that the would take some time for rebuilding their team. Cavaliers would never be the same team without their superstar and hence the sacking of Lue felt harsh.
