The Villanova Wildcats travel to Austin for the first time since 2006 as they face the Texas Longhorns in their next game. Except for a surprising defeat to Virginia Tech, Villanova has started the season well.
The Wildcats are currently coming off a win against the University of Hartford. It was a dominant display as the Wildcats pummeled the Hawks in an 87-53 win.
Brandon Slater and Caleb Daniels displayed some blistering shooting, as they hit a combined 6-7 from three. They eased to victory despite their best player, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, having a quiet game with just 2 points.

Texas has had a brilliant start to their season. After back-to-back wins against Davison and Indiana, they had a remarkable upset win against UNC.
They dominated in the first half, going up 40-28. But then a sloppy second-half performance led to the scores being tied at 67-67 with seconds to go. Senior guard Matt Coleman III stepped up as he buried the game-winner with a step-back midrange.
NCAA Men’s Basketball: Can the Villanova Wildcats return to the Top-5?
The Wildcats stood #3 in the preseason AP Poll. That one loss against the Hokies saw them tumble out of the Top-10, all the way to #12.
They will aim to go one win at a time as they prepare to begin their ascent. A win against the Longhorns would certainly help their case.

The Wildcats will be expected to start with their usual lineup. Colin Gillespie and Justin Moore will feature in the backcourt, Caleb Daniels and Jermaine Samuels as the forwards and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl to complete the team.

After a poor run of 3 games, Samuels potentially saved his spot with a 4/5 FG game against the Hawks. Robinson-Earl will need to step up after a surprisingly poor game. He is struggling from the three-point line, shooting just 20% but he is still their leading scorer and rebounder.
Matt Coleman, Andrew Jones, and Courtney Ramey will start as the guards for the Longhorns, while Greg Brown and Jericho Sims fill out the team.

Coleman is in red-hot form now, and that game-winner in the previous win will keep him pumped. The Wildcats need to find a way to slow Coleman down, or he will torch them.
The Wildcats may be the higher seed, but we predict that the Longhorns will come out on top. They have had one upset win so far, and the Wildcats could be the next ones on the list.
