La Liga giants, FC Barcelona are aiming to reunite Brazilian Neymar with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. This will bring back the famous MSN trio that has been dominant in La Liga for so long. However, this would also mean that some player would need to be sacrificed, and that player is Philippe Coutinho.

It is no secret that Neymar Jr wants to get out of Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona want to get rid of Coutinho. Ever since he transferred from Liverpool, Philippe Coutinho has struggled to find his feet in Barcelona.

PSG’s initial offer was €300 million for the transfer of Neymar Jr, but Barca were unwilling to play ball. The La Liga champions are aware that one of their player would need to be in the chopping block, in order to re-accommodate Neymar. Some of the names thrown in the hat were Ivan Rakitic, Philippe Coutinho and Samuel Umtiti.

Off all of the three names, Coutinho’s is the most likely candidate to head to Paris. Barca’s counter-offer was €100 million and Philippe Coutinho in a swap deal with Neymar. Admittedly, PSG are quite fond of Coutinho, while the opposite is true for his compatriot Neymar. The man himself, has often clashed with the likes of Edinson Cavani, which has even escalated on the international level.

On the other hand, he had a fairly good rapport with Messi and Suarez in Barca. However, there are still chances that Barcelona could give Coutinho another chance and sacrifice either Rakitic or Umtiti. Provided, Coutinho gets his act together, a team of Messi, Suarez, Neymar and Coutinho can be quite deadly.

With regard to bringing in the Brazilian playmaker once more, Barcelona need to focus of three main aspects. First and foremost, they need to reduce the wage bill and accommodate the salary of Neymar. Secondly, the club needs to earn a profit in sales to be able to pay for Neymar’s purchase. Finally, there is a need to clean the dressing room of players who are not part of next season’s designs.
