Tom Brady Responds to Lebron James’ viewpoint of the Buccaneers QB Not Being the GOAT

Even at the age of 43, Tom Brady continues to defy the odds. Winning his seventh Super Bowl ring with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady etched his name in the history books by becoming the first player ever to win seven rings.
To put this feat into context, Brady has now won more Super Bowls than any franchise in NFL history. Thus it’s only natural for people to call Tom Brady the greatest of all time or simply the GOAT.

But one athlete who can possibly challenge Brady for the GOAT label seems to disagree with this viewpoint. LA Lakers superstar LeBron James had earlier said on an episode of HBO’s The Shop: Uninterrupted, a show he co-hosts, that while Brady is the greatest football player of all time, he isn’t the greatest of all time across the world of sports.
His reasoning? James feels football players aren’t allowed to have the title because they either play offense or defense unlike some of their counterparts in the NBA who do both.
Now featuring on the show himself, Brady had a chance to reflect upon LeBron James’ comments.
LeBron James’ comments leave Tom Brady unfazed
Appearing on the show, Brady was asked by co-host Maverick Carter what he had to say about LeBron’s comments. And it seems LeBron James has failed to get inside Brady’s head.

“You could say, well, you’re maybe the most accomplished. I would say, okay, yeah, I’ve won a lot of games, Super Bowls and so forth. But my style of play might not fit everybody else’s, what their view of what that position should be.

I can really just be the best with the body that I was given. There are certain things that I certainly cannot do. And I have the awareness to realize, OK, I can’t do those things,” said Brady as per NFL.com.

While LeBron wasn’t a part of this episode, Brady made it clear that in the NFL one person cannot be expected to do it all. Rather Brady feels he looks to excel at the aspects of his game that he’s expected to handle to help his side win more games.
“You can’t do everyone else’s job. I can’t block, tackle, run, catch. I sure as hell can’t run. But I can throw the fu*k out of the ball. So let me just do that, and let me do that really well. And if I can do that, then the team certainly can use me for that.”
