It’s been almost 15 years since a young starry-eyed Aaron Rodgers arrived in the NFL. The Green Bay Packers drafted Rodgers in the 2005 NFL Draft event. The California-born youngster was the #24 overall pick. He was brought to Wisconsin to play alongside the legendary Brett Favre.

Favre, an enigma in himself, joined the Packers in 1992. He went on to establish himself as one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play in the league. Between 1992-2007, Favre won the Super Bowl and three NFL MVP awards while playing for the Packers.

Aaron Rodgers took over as a starter in 2008 after Favre left to join the Minnesota Vikings. Replacing Favre was no small task. But after spending two years under his tutelage, Rodgers hit the road running in his debut season.

Almost two decades later, Rodgers is now on track to break another important milestone that was set by his predecessor.

As fate would have it, Rodgers is on track to become the Packers’ most successful quarterback. Right now, he is on par with Favre’s record during his 16 years in Wisconsin. After 182 games in Green Bay, the Packers won 119 games with Favre as their starter.

Now, in 182 starts for the Packers, the 36-year-old Rodgers also has the same tally of 119 wins. Who would’ve thought?

In 298 starts for the Packers, Favre amassed a total of 186 wins. A-Rod needs another 67 wins to match that tally. Based on his current MVP-level form, Rodgers could easily reach that mark over the next five years. That is, of course, if he intends to remain with the Packers.

With youngster Jordan Love on Green Bay’s roster, we can’t help but wonder if Rodgers is going to hunt for a new challenge. Let’s not forget, that’s exactly what his predecessor did by joining their NFC North rivals. Is Rodgers going to go down the same road? Watch this space for more.
