Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is quite the sneaky prankster, as fans found out before the start of the 2021 NFL campaign. Before the start of last season, there were many speculations about Rodgers and his future with the franchise. The Packers QB was unhappy because of the exclusion of the organization in personnel decision-making.

While creating his version of the Last Dance, the former Super Bowl champion was looking to surround himself with familiar faces. Rodgers, with his teammates Randall Cobb and David Bakhtiari, ended up attempting to bring back their former teammate and linebacker Clay Matthews.

The trio took to Instagram to share their thoughts about potentially bringing back Matthews for the 2021 season.

Since his exit in 2019, Matthews wasn’t playing competitive football for nearly 2 years. After playing a decade-long career with the franchise, the 6-time Pro Bowler was not looking for a comeback tour in 2021. The attempts from the Packers trio were unsuccessful, and it was the Packers QB, who provided some clarifications.

Was Aaron Rodgers testing the Green Bay Packers’ resolve with his jokes?

It was shortly after his social media prank that Rodgers addressed his actions to the reporters, stating, “Friday night, I was with Dave (Bakhtiari) and his lovely fiancee, Frankie and the Cobbs. And we had a question about Clay that came up, because Clay just moved from California. So we got Clay on FaceTime. Those conversations turned into a social media post.
