The future of Russell Wilson is still up in the air. The Seahawks quarterback is rumored to want to leave the franchise. However, Seattle is reluctant to let him go, as players of his quality aren’t easily available. They have been very unreceptive to teams who have inquired about him so far. But all hope is not lost yet.
NFL analyst Adam Schefter spoke to ESPN recently. He believes that despite the Chicago Bears getting their trade offer rejected, they haven’t given up on getting Russell Wilson.
At the moment, they are still planing and holding out hope that the wantaway star could be made available for external bidders. They will wait till the NFL draft to see if the situation changes at all.

“No. The Chicago Bears were rebuffed, and not only were they rebuffed this week. The Bears are still paying attention to Russell Wilson and have not abandoned hopes that they could eventually trade for Wilson.
“I think everybody needs to stay tuned to the Russell Wilson situation up to and during the NFL Draft.”

Furthermore, Schefter added that the Seahawks will have to make a final decision on Wilson by the time the Draft rolls around. If Head Coach Pete Carroll were to come out and declare that Russell Wilson will remain with the Seahawks, any discourse about his future will be in vain.
“That is the real touchstone moment. We’ll find out whether the Seahawks are or not willing to trade Wilson. I think we have not heard them come out and say, to this point, ‘No, we are not trading Russell Wilson’.
“When we hear the Seahawks General Manager or Head Coach Pete Carroll say that, then we’ll know Wilson is staying put.”

Russell Wilson angling to leave Seattle
Schefter believes the NFL’s landscape has changed over the past few years. Things are not as they should be in Seattle, according to Wilson.
He has openly complained about the roster, and what he wants out of them. The Seahawks’ resistance to his ideas is why he is looking for a way out.
