However, the one thing that Lamar Jackson was not too thrilled about was his overall rating. As it turns out, his overall rating stands at 94, thus making him the third-best quarterback in the game.

It also places him right on the heels of Patrick Mahomes and Russell Wilson.

Speaking to ESPN, Jackson lamented, “I wish it was better. But hey, it’s better than it was last year. I guess we can roll with it till the season starts.”

What else did Lamar Jackson say?

The good news is that Jackson finds himself on the cover of Madden 21. A jump from 79 to 94 within the span of a year seems like a massive improvement.

However, Jackson confessed that he would have loved to see his rating climb a little higher. This is because he firmly believes that he has improved in leaps and bounds from his rookie season to his second year in the NFL.

“I just think I did better than last year,” Jackson said. “I did a lot more than people expected, and our team did. At least 96, 97 probably.”

With this in mind, Lamar Jackson will surely be fired up to improve his performance. If or when he amasses more accolades, chances are that his rating will only improve.
