Richard Sherman has been in the NFL for exactly a decade now. He was a 5th round pick (154th overall) in 2011 by the Seattle Seahawks. But 10 years down the line, Sherman has firmly established himself as one of the best cornerbacks of the 21st century. A 5-time Pro Bowler, Sherman won the Super Bowl XLVIII title with the Hawks in 2014.
After a brief stint with the San Francisco 49ers, Sherman entered the 2021 NFL season as a free agent. Obviously, there was great interest in signing the experienced superstar. Ultimately, it was Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers that won the race for his signature.

He revealed that there multiple teams (San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, and Carolina Panthers) interested in signing him. But he chose the reigning Super Bowl champions.
“I went with the best offer I had, the best opportunity to go out there and put some great tape on, to lead another group. I feel comfortable and confident in my abilities to go out there and execute and help that team win.”

I promise you that the #Seahawks spoke on multiple occasions with CB Richard Sherman. It does require both parties for a deal to happen!

In 2017, the #Bucs went 5-11 and finished last in the NFC South. Imagine telling their fans that in just four years, they’d have won a Super Bowl AT HOME w/Brady, Gronk, Fournette, AB, Suh and JPP — only to sign Gio Bernard and Richard Sherman the year after. Absolutely epic‼️

Richard Sherman has signed with Tampa Bay…he says the 49ers did show interest, but Tampa made a better offer, and Brady reached out to him…

Sherman reportedly signed a one-year contract with the Bucs. He is set to make a total of $2.25 million (excluding bonuses) in this period. His deal also includes $500,000 in guarantees. Not a bad deal at all for a 33-year old veteran, we reckon.
