The Buffalo Bills recently confirmed the hiring of former Panthers OC Joe Brady on Wednesday. He will be taking up the role of a QBs coach in the franchise and aid QB Josh Allen’s development. Coach Brady was fired by Panthers head coach nearly two years ago and has not been in the league since.
He did apply as a candidate for the Arizona Cardinals head coaching job but was beaten to it by coach Arthur Smith. He has a ton of experience with NFL QBs and did help the development of Sam Darnold, Cam Newton, and Teddy Bridgewater. Brady has ties with the current Super Bowl heading Bengals QB Joe Burrow during his LSU years in college.

The Bills Mafia will hope that their QB Josh Allen will learn and add more to his game with Brady around him. Despite sharing a surname with one of the game’s legendary QBs in Tom Brady, Joe Brady is great himself at his job. It also continues the relations and history between the Bills and the Panthers.

Joe Brady is taking over from Ken Dorsey, who got promoted to the offensive coordinator position. Brady will be taking his role for the first time in this career as he is more suited for individual training with QBs. It will be an extension of his role with a Bills QB depth of Allen, Mitch Trubisky, and Davis Webb.
A concerning stat for the Bills will be Brady’s record as offensive coordinator in Carolina. His team did rank 27th in points (19.9) and 23rd in yards per game (332) in 2021. Brady has been someone who has always had a lesser role in NFL teams. This will be a real test for him as a coach.
