The Arizona Cardinals dominated the game against the Los Angeles Chargers for the majority of the time. The starting QB, Kyler Murray, returned to the field after suffering a hamstring injury. Everything fared well for the team until the shot-caller absorbed a sack. While talking about the unfortunate mishap, the 25-year-old took a jab at the head coach, Kliff Kingsbury.

The loss had to hurt because the Los Angeles Chargers edged them when the Cardiac Cardinals were still in the lead with 18 seconds left on the clock. However, RB Austin Ekeler’s TD helped the Chargers to tie the game.

Los Angeles could have kicked for an extra point to force overtime. But they chose to take two and took the lead with 15 seconds on the clock. The lack of time turned the game messy for the Red Bird, who instead of keeping it on the ground, gave the ball to DeAndre Hopkins. The Bolts seized the opportunity and intercepted Kyler Murray.

The Chargers then scored a touchdown after breaking away the throw. While recalling the inception, Murray blamed the scheme and said, “That wasn’t even supposed [to go to] Hop. Schematically we were kinda fu*ked.” Many think it’s a cleverly veiled shot at the HC who stands on thin ice.

Kyler Murray and his team’s unfruitful attempt to win the game

The prime reason Arizona lost was due to a lack of rhythm. Even though they put up a strong fight, ran throughout the game, and had a defense that played well, as is usual in Kingsbury fashion, things went haywire when less time remained on the clock. James Conner’s early fumble and Murray’s careless interception benefitted the Chargers.

Justin Herbert and Austin Ekeler’s efforts would have gone to waste. Herbert was unable to push the ball down the field. However, their execution and plans saved the game. The QB could throw like his signature self without any support.
