Dak Prescott Expects a ‘Very, Very Special’ Season for Dallas Cowboys in 2021

The 2020 NFL season was a nightmare for the Dallas Cowboys. Losing their star quarterback Dak Prescott to a season-ending injury early on saw America’s Team miss the playoffs after recording a 6-10 losing record.

But with Prescott back and healthy and tied down to a new four-year $160 million contract, the Cowboys are optimistic about 2021. With several other key players returning from injury as well, the Cowboys are firm favorites to win the NFC East.

But that shouldn’t be the Cowboys’ end goal. Heading into the new season, Dak Prescott is looking to ensure that 2021 is a year to remember in Cowboys folklore.

Dak Prescott feels 2021 has the potential to be special for Dallas Cowboys

Prescott who is back after recovering from a gruesome ankle injury is the man to watch out for next season. In his first five games last season, the Cowboys QB was in electric form. But Prescott believes the Cowboys can be even better than how they performed in that stretch of games.

“Improvement, a lot of improvement obviously from last year to this year, but deeper than that from those first five games,” Prescott said while talking to NBC DFW.

“Take those first five games and just say we’re going to be better than that as a team. We’re going to play more complementary football from defense to offense to special teams, and then we’re going to have a healthy team,” he added.

The Dallas Cowboys were hit badly by the injury bug in 2020. But with almost all their key stars now fit and healthy, Prescott hopes the roster can bank on some good fortune to maintain that.

“We’re excited that hopefully, we can stay healthy. We can get good fortune on that end. Then, we can just put everything we’ve worked hard for together on all stages and all phases of the game. We’re excited for this year. It’s going to be very, very special for us and for Cowboys fans.”
