Former Dolphins Safety Reveals What it’s Like to Play Against Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray

Lamar Jackson lit up the league in 2019. The youngster burst onto the main stage in his second season with Baltimore Ravens as they outplayed the rest of the league and made the playoffs.

The Florida-born athlete became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for 3,000+ yards and 1,000+ yards in the same season. His efforts earned him the NFL MVP award ahead of Super Bowl-winning QB, Patrick Mahomes.

Another youngster to impress was Arizona Cardinals’ shot-caller Kyler Murray. Just like Jackson, Murray is also a former Heisman Trophy winner. The striking similarity between these two quarterbacks is that they are both dual-threats in the middle.

Minkah Fitzpatrick opens up on playing against Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray

Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick was recently interviewed by NFL Network. The young safety is one of the up-and-coming players in the league. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in 2018.

However, he jumped ship to the Pittsburgh Steelers the next year midway through the season. He was traded by the Dolphins in exchange for Steelers’ first-round pick (Austin Jackson), 2020 fifth round, and 2021 sixth-round draft picks.

The 23-year-old spoke about how it was difficult to defend against the likes of Lamar Jackson and Kyler Murray. The Steelers and the Ravens share a strong rivalry between them. The two teams are slated to clash this season.

With Ben Roethlisberger back in the team, it will be interesting to see if the Ravens can hold on to their spot at the top of the AFC North Division.

The former Oklahoma Sooners man had a decent rookie season with the Cardinals. He finished 2019 with 3,722 passing yards, 20 passing touchdowns against 12 interceptions. He was also adjudged as Offensive Rookie of the Year. The arrival of former Houston Texans wide receiver, DeAndre Hopkins, in Arizona will benefit Murray in 2020.
