The Ravens pretty much have just one goal this entire offseason. Regardless of anything else, their top priority has to be this – Re-sign Lamar Jackson. No matter what the stakes are, they need to do whatever way they can to re-sign Lamar Jackson.
Lamar Jackson and the Ravens have already had a rough time negotiating a contract extension this past offseason. The extension talks eventually failed, as the Ravens failed to reach a sizable offer for someone of Jackson’s calibre. And they must regret that more than ever now, because Lamar Jackson put on an absolutely amazing show this season. Jackson was at the helm of the Ravens league leading offense for several weeks.

A season that many think surpasses even his 2019 MVP Season, Lamar is destined to earn a big contract this offseason. The question, however, is still the same. Do the Ravens extend the big contract, or do they give up on one of the best players their franchise has ever seen?
Fans in disbelief as NFL Veteran thinks Ravens should let go of Lamar Jackson

“Ravens would be wrong to let him walk”
Fans know the importance of a star like Jackson and one fan recommended a way to salvage the relationship between the star and the team:
“Or the Ravens should just fire Harbaugh and Roman and try and fix their relationship with Lamar by giving him input in the next head coach and OC”
The Ravens coaching staff led by HC John Harbaugh has been under fire for their heavily critiqued game decisions. Most fans have wanted the organisation to replace the coaching staff and if it allows the team to keep Lamar, the decision should be a no-brainer for the Ravens.
Some fans also had trade suggestions for Lamar in the scenario that the QB decides to reject the Ravens contract. One fan suggested a trade to the Texans
“Lamar to Houston for the #2 pick. They bring I’m Sean Payton with that #12 pick. They still have a shit ton of picks and cap to build up the roster. Already have a good LT and solid young players at key positions. Give it like 2 years and that is a SuperBowl team”
Another fan suggested a trade for Derek Carr, the Raiders QB
“Sign and trade for DC with Las Vegas (obviously with other pieces involved, not a 1 for 1)”
What the Ravens finally end up doing is going to significantly impact the way the franchise’s future looks.

What options do the Ravens even have?
The Ravens are currently projected to have up to $40 Million in salary cap this coming offseason. That may seem enough, but with a Lamar Jackson contract extension due, they will probably lose almost all of that cap space. With little to work with, the Ravens have a lot to do. As mentioned before, among their top priorities might be finding a more suitable coaching staff for the team.
Another hurdle facing the Ravens is their lack of top-tier WRs. The team has had a glaring weakness at the WR position, and finding replacements at that spot must be amongst the team’s top agendas. With a successful run-heavy game, the over-reliance of the passing game on Lamar Jackson has been visible, especially this season following Jackson’s injury. The Ravens have a lot of questions to answer this offseason, and they need to figure out the answers quick.
