However, Jerry wasn’t at all in good health during the segment. The Cowboys owner was interrupted during his statement by his incessant coughing. And he thought of the most unexpected remedy for this problem.

Jerry Jones was discussing the present state of his franchise, and the upcoming acquisitions planned. That’s when things started to get a little phlegmy. Jones seemed to be struggling to clear his throat and cut himself in the middle of talking several times. Finally, after getting the throat cleared and the coughing coming to a stop, Jerry asked for some aid. And medical help wasn’t the only thing Jones asked for.

Jerry Jones took over the Cowboys’ ownership in 1989 and won 3 super bowls in the next 7 years. However, the 80-year-old is not his old dominating self. Or so he wants you to think. While speaking about the current good state of the NFC East Division where all 4 teams are performing well, Jones’ age caught up with him, as he couldn’t control his cough. His cold interrupted him as he spoke about the Washington Commanders going on a winning run.

When the hosts of the show asked if Jerry Jones was alright, the Dallas Cowboys GM assured them that everything was fine. Then Jones asked for some help. “Get me some oxygen,” Jerry said to some mild laughter from the hosts, who were relieved that everything was fine. However, everyone cracked up when Jerry Jones followed up a second later with, “better still, how ‘bout a big shot of Jack!”
