Wisconsin-based franchise, Green Bay Packers have enjoyed a fine start to their 2020 NFL campaign and are on a three-game winning streak. Much of their success has to do with the individual brilliance of veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers. However, a few others have also impressed in the last three weeks in coach Matt LaFleur’s sophomore season.

The likes of running back Aaron Jones and wide receiver Davante Adams have put in some strong displays. Another player who grabbed headlines earlier this week was the youngster, Allen Lazard.

He had a career-defining game against New Orleans Saints last weekend. However, it seems that his 2020 NFL campaign has been brought to an abrupt halt with a serious injury.

Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard could miss the rest of the season

Matt LaFleur’s Green Bay Packers have been dealt a huge blow ahead of their Week Four encounter against Atlanta Falcons. As per NFL insider Adam Schefter, Packers wide receiver, Allen Lazard, underwent core-muscle surgery earlier this week and has been ruled out “indefinitely”.

Lazard was coming off the best game of his career. He starred in the comprehensive 30-37 win over New Orleans Saints in Week Three. The third-year wideout had 146 receiving yards on six receptions and on receiving TD against the Saints. He was a strong secondary performer in the previous two wins over Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions, respectively.

The Packers find themselves in trouble as far as their wide receivers are concerned. Apart from Lazard, star wideout Davante Adams is also dealing with a hamstring issue from the Week Two win over the Lions. He was not involved in the New Orleans game and is doubtful for Monday’s game against Atlanta Falcons.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling is the only experienced wide receiver on the active roster. The likes of Darrius Shepherd and Malik Taylor are yet to prove themselves in the NFL. However, the Packers have four wide receivers on their practice squad whom they can call upon. They are Robert Foster, Reggie Begelton, along with rookies Caleb Scott and Juwann Winfree.
