The NFC South franchise flourished under the leadership of the veteran NFL quarterback. He led the Buccaneers to their second-ever Lombardi win and was adjudged Super Bowl LV MVP as well.

TB12 will return once again in 2021 to defend his latest title. But another quarterback is scheduled to make a return when the season starts later in September – Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott.

Michael Irvin goes on a Dak Prescott appreciation rant in recent interview

NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin was part of the Dallas Cowboys outfit that last lifted the Lombardi Trophy in the late 1990s. He was the latest guest on ESPN’s show featuring the outspoken Stephen A. Smith.

Irvin heaped praise on 27-year-old Dak Prescott after securing his record-breaking extension on Monday night.

He said, “We have the closest thing in the National Football League to Tom Brady at quarterback now. That’s what we have. Because Dak Prescott has the ability to do what Tom does and he has the leadership (skills) like Tom. That’s what that means.

“Dak Prescott along with his leadership and how these guys follow him was well worth becoming the highest-paid quarterback in NFL history.

“You got to make sure you measure and count for these things….That’s where he’s most like Tom Brady. He’s a great leader,” Irvin said on the show.

In 69 starts for the Cowboys, Dak Prescott has thrown for 17,634 yards with 106 passing touchdowns. He has a 42-27 record as a starter and will be expected to the first team line-up when he clears rehab later this year.
