Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers endured a poor conclusion to their 2020 NFL campaign. The NFC North champions suffered a defeat in the NFC Championship Game for the 2nd successive year.

The last time out it was the San Francisco 49ers who knocked them out, this season it was the eventual Super Bowl LV winners, Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

But Rodgers had a brilliant individual season, throwing for 4,299 yards with 48 passing TDs. He picked up his 3rd NFL MVP award in 2020 ahead of the likes of Tom Brady, Russell Wilson, Patrick Mahomes, and Josh Allen.

“There was a cloud that he created immediately after the NFC Championship Game regarding his future in Green Bay.

“And I was told at the time that this was all about Rodgers wanting a new contract, not that he necessarily wants more money but that he wants the kind of contract that will bind the Packers to him and him to the Packers for the next 2 or 3 years….if it’s a simple restructuring, you don’t need to have a negotiation,” Florio said on the show.

Mike Florio does not see Jordan Love replacing Rodgers anytime soon

Speaking on the Jordan Love angle of the whole situation, Florio was quick to speak about Aaron’s mindset on the issue.

“I don’t want to be thinking about this Jordan love nonsense. Every day, every practice, every game, wondering if ‘Is this is my last season as the starter? Am I gonna have to find another team next year?’

“That’s what I think he deserves for being the MVP. And I think that’s what he reasonably should want,” he added.
