Patrick Mahomes has been touted as the next rising star in the NFL circuit. The 24-year old recently signed a new 10-year contract extension which comes with a hefty purse.

This makes it quite clear that the Kansas City Chiefs view Mahomes as the one who can guide them to Super Bowl glory. On the subject of Super Bowls, one person who is familiar in that arena is a certain Tom Brady.

In light of this, NFL analyst, Stephen A Smith spoke about Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady. According to him, as great as Mahomes is, the Kansas City Chiefs will find it difficult to establish a dynasty.

What lies in the future for Patrick Mahomes?

If Mahomes wants to bag those 6 Super Bowls and catch the likes of Tom Brady, he needs a proper team backing him. As good as he is, Patrick Mahomes is not a one-man army and he needs players who can deliver.

In other words, he needs players like Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelsey, or players of their calibre on the field.

He insisted that he has a lot of faith in Patrick Mahomes, but there are a lot of factors that go into a Super Bowl-winning team.

Additionally, Mahomes deserves every penny of that fat paycheck, called his 10-year contract. When he spoke to ESPN, Mahomes declared his intention to overhaul Brady’s Super Bowl tally.

He said, “I don’t know if there’s a number. I mean obviously you try to chase greatness, and Tom’s got six, so I’m going to try to do whatever I can to at least get to that number.

“I understand how hard that is, really, it’s a one of a kind thing for Tom to be able to get to nine Super Bowls and win six of them, and so I’m just going to go about the process every single day of trying to make myself better and do whatever I can to make the Kansas City Chiefs better.”
