“It’s Not About the Supporting Cast”- Former NFL Quarterback Tips Aaron Rodgers For MVP

The 36-year-old Green Bay Packers star Aaron Rodgers was labeled ‘washed up’, ‘finished’, and more of the sort at the end of the 2019 NFL season. But fast forward to the fifth week of the NFL and you’ll find that those accusations were foolhardy at best.
The 2-time NFL MVP has thrown for 1,214 yards this season with 13 TDs to his name. His passer rating of 128.4 is one of the best in the league at the moment. Russell Wilson, Josh Allen, and Patrick Mahomes are the top contenders to bag the NFL MVP award.
But Rodgers is right up there with the rest of them in contention to win his third MVP title. However, what separates Rodgers from his counterparts is the fact that he is not really supported by a ‘superstar cast’ like the others.

Aaron Rodgers makes a strong case for NFL MVP award this season
Former New York Jets and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback, Greg McElroy, had some words of praise reserved for veteran NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers. “That dude’s up there when you look at Rodgers…when you look at who was on the field with him, this further proves that guys, it’s not about the supporting cast because an elite quarterback will elevate the supporting cast around him.
“Even his incompletions last night were well thrown. He was 20 for 20 when targeting running backs and tight ends for 241 yards and four touchdowns.
