Brooklyn Nets small forward and NBA superstar Kevin Durant dropped a harsh reality check on the NFL fans. The basketball veteran claimed that the time for Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers was over since the younger generation of athletes; have dominated the league already. 

Take a look at the 2021 post-season games. The ones who stood out during the playoffs were Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, and Tom Brady; most of them youngsters. It was hard to see veterans like Aaron Rodgers and Ben Roethlisberger go down. This implies that the NFL is now heading towards a new generation of athletes who will carry this sport forward. 

Kevin explained how the sport has drastically shifted its spotlight towards the youngsters. He was in talks with his host Eddie about the bizarre Divisional Round matchup between the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs. 

That was clearly the game of the quarterbacks. The 25-year-old Josh Allen and 26-year-old Patrick Mahomes put on a show and displayed that the league has a safe and yet, an interesting future. The quarterbacks opened the doors for a new-gen rivalry succeeding the Brady-Manning period.

“Brady and Rodgers are still doing it, but you know their time is coming to an end,” Kevin said. “And then you see the Allens, the Mahomes, the Herberts, the Lamars. I mean they gonna be for sure running the league in the next 10 years, you know. And I think we gonna see some legendary performances.”

Speaking of the young and gifted athletes, Durant mentioned how much of a potential threat Herbert is. “I think his time is coming though,” the Nets star said of Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert.
